Call for extra medical specialists
Although Bunbury currently has an adequate range of specialists to meet current needs, as the population increases, future demand will need to be met.
There are additional specialists that South West people would also benefit from. Ear, nose and throat specialists and psychiatrists would be a welcomed inclusion to meet the current demands.
The medical landscape has changed dramatically over the past eleven years. Bunbury Regional Hospital is expecting a level two Intensive Care Unit by 2013, meaning patients requiring a ventilator can remain in Bunbury. In addition, a Radiotherapy unit will also be opening at St John of God Hospital next year.
