Changes to the Australian Quarantine Procedure
Minor changes to the Australian Quarantine procedure
PSS International Removals have been advised by Australian Quarantine Inspection Services (AQIS) that shipments arriving on the 1st August 2009 or after will be subject to some minor changes to the inspection procedure and it is important that the international removal company you choose have made the correct provisions for this. The main changes to the clearance procedure will be the packing materials used for the shipment and a packing declaration will be required on every shipment, the removal company will also be required to provide a cleanliness declaration for your outdoor goods and your sea freight container.
It is important to check with your removal company regarding these procedures, if you have any queries please contact PSS International Removals and they would be pleased to help you.
Changes to Luxury Car Tax (LCT)
PSS International Removals have been advised that the tax percentage for Luxury car tax has been changed to 33% on vehicles valued over the threshold of A$57,180. The 33% will only apply to the amount between A$57,180 and the customs value. I.e. if your vehicle is valued at A$60,000 then you will be required to pay 33% luxury car tax on £2820.
