London Family Migration Processing Timeframes

As London are managing more closely the number of visas that are to be granted within this program year, the processing times for Family Program visa applications lodged in London have changed.

As of August 2010, the processing times for Family Migration applications lodged in London are as follows:

• Partner visa applications (including subclasses 300, 309 and 100): 5-6 months from date of lodgement

• Child visa applications: (including subclasses 101, 445, 117 and 102): 5-6 months from date of lodgement

• Other Family (including subclasses 114, 115 and 116): 9-12 months from date of lodgement

We would like to assure you that there is no limit on the number of visas which will ultimately be approved and your eligibility for the visa will not be affected by the management of the program. All applicants who meet the criteria for a visa will be granted a visa.
 
Processing times are intended to be a guideline and, as far as possible, we aim to process and finalise applications within that timeframe. These timeframes are, however, subject to change as a result to changes in circumstances. We attempt to advise clients of any change to the processing times as soon as is reasonably possible, however, we are never in a position to guarantee a definite finalisation date. For this reason, we would like to reiterate our advice which is to recommend clients that they do not take any irreversible action during the processing of their application (such as leaving their employment, purchasing airline tickets, or selling their property) until and unless it has been confirmed in writing that their visa has been granted.
