FREE ESTIMATES

PSS offer and highly recommend a FREE NO OBLIGATION survey of your removal requirements up to 6 months prior to your intended move to Australia. An experienced estimator will visit your home to assess the volume and packing requirements of the household goods you are intending to take to Australia. At this stage you can request a second estimate which excludes certain items, thereby enabling you to ascertain the cost effectiveness of sending those items. Coordinating your International Removal

After your pre-move survey PSS will automatically assign two of their friendly move coordinators to handle your removal to Australia from start to finish. Your Move coordinators will be on hand to guide you through the process using their extensive knowledge and experience in international removals to Australia.

Packing and the Removal

The export packing and loading of your possessions is probably the most important part of the whole International removal process. It is important that the removal company you choose will protect your fragile household items using the correct export grade of industry approved packing materials. It is also important that they have highly skilled and fully trained export packers. .

If you select a sole use container service PSS will deliver the container to your door, pack and load your container at your residence in your presence, seal the container and it will be shipped directly from your door to Australia. If you have selected our ‘share a container’ service, PSS will pack and measure your consignment at your residence and return this to our warehouse for loading in the next groupage container to your Australian destination. With PSS share a container service you will only be charged for the amount of space your goods use in the container.

Shipping to Australia

Once your container has been loaded it is secured using a customs seal and transported to the UK port ready for loading onto the vessel and shipment to Australia. The approximate shipping time is 6-8 weeks for a full container and 8-12 weeks for share a container service up to arrival in Australia. 

When you arrive in Australia

PSS will contact you before your container arrives at the port in Australia, this is to reconfirm your delivery requirements and also your delivery address. PSS will also provide you with an Australian Customs form. All goods which arrive into Australia are subject to Australian Customs clearance & Quarantine. PSS will collect your container under customs bond and returned to our bonded warehouse, where it will await customs clearance & Quarantine - this can usually take between 7 and 14 days. Australian Customs

When your shipment arrives in Australia, PSS will arrange for your personal effects or household effects to be cleared by Australian Customs and Border Protection Services. To assist PSS with your clearance you will be required to complete an unaccompanied effects statement, this can be completed in the UK before your departure or in Australia. If your goods are arriving into Australia before you do, you can nominate a member of your family or a friend in Australia to act on your behalf, you must complete the relevant yourself before you depart the UK.

If you're shipping a firearm, you must contact Australian customs & apply for import permission from the Territory Police Registry, an import permit B709a must be received before exporting. The weapon will be inspected and licensed by the Police upon arrival.

All goods entering Australia are subject to Duty Tax & GST however, a personal or household effects shipment will qualify for free entry of Duty Tax & GST if your goods have:

• Been owned and used for 12 months or more by you.
• Be a first time migrant who is taking up permanent residency for the first time
• Returning Australian Citizen who has been living outside of Australia for 12 months or more.

Australian Quarantine (AQIS)

Australia are naturally concerned about their environment and wish to protect their agricultural industries from possible contamination by foreign pests and diseases brought in through the movement of personal and household effects to Australia. The Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service regulate the importation of personal and household effects and your goods are subject to inspection upon arrival. It is important for you to be given the correct advice before you decide to ship certain items. Please ensure that all Garden Tools, Garden Furniture, Garden Toys and outdoor sports equipment have been cleaned before exporting them to Australia.

Delivery & Unpacking in Australia

Due to the regulations set out by Australian Customs and AQIS, your goods will not be delivered inside your original sea freight container. After clearance your goods will be loaded onto a separate vehicle and delivered to your residence. Our unloading crew will place your items in the rooms of your choice and unwrap and remove the packing material from your furniture.
